This year our team challenge is for both Ian Rees and Nick Hill to take a group of Cyclists from Tower Bridge in London to the Coliseum Rome !!
The riders are a combination of the “Bedminster Road Garage Team” that completed a John O Groats to Lands End ride in 10 days during 2014 and “Team Hill” who completed the same ride in reverse again in 10 days during 2013.
The planned route will take the intrepid riders from Tower Bridge in London, through Paris, down to Dijon where they will visit Lapierre Cycles, the T1diabetes.info Cycle Race Teams Bicycle sponsor for 2015. Then it's on up over the Alps via the legendary Mont Ventoux; the riders will then cross over into Italy following the beautiful coast line before cutting inland to the finish at the Coliseum in Rome.
The route is a rather demanding 1500 miles !! During this epic ride the plan is to meet and ride with many Type 1 Diabetic riders and celebrity's as is possible.
Ian has Elite racing status and has been ranked in the Top Ten in the UK.
